Owners Michael & Lisa Orlando and team have helped grow Emergency Restoration, Inc. (ERI) 300% since it opened its doors in 2003. It began as a small restoration team just servicing New Orleans and grew to servicing the entire state of Louisiana. The team looks forward to continuing to remain as the local leader in both service knowledge and building strong client relationships.
Given the opportunity to partner with FIRST ONSITE, the ERI team knew it was a perfect fit in order to expand their teams resource capacity as well as their internal support. Upon graduating from the University of New Orleans in 1993 with a BS in Business where he was a member of the Student Government Association representing the American Marketing Association students’ chapter, he accepted a marketing/sales position with a local industrial cleaning company in New Orleans. After nearly three years, Mr. Orlando was approached by a very large local dry-cleaning company to create, develop and manage a property damage mitigation division. Here Mr. Orlando and his new venture found great success where he gained much respect in the local market place as the large loss expert. Mr. Orlando spent better than seven years with that company. And in 2003, he and his wife Lisa founded Emergency Restoration, Inc. (ERI).
Until today, ERI remains exclusively owned by Lisa and Michael Orlando. They are very proud of the company reputation, successes and the relationships they have gained over the years. Mr. Orlando is a firm believer in continuing education, not just for his industry but for his clients as well. One of Mr. Orlando’s many mottos is that in order to best serve his clients, he must know his clients and their business. At one time and it may remain, Mr. Orlando held more industry specific credentials than any other one in his state. Mr. Orlando has taught hundreds of CE hours to the insurance industry, he has been key note speaker, panelist, consultant, featured on television and in news print.
Through his tenure including that of ERI, Mr. Orlando has been called upon to mitigate and/or oversee damages to property ranging from fire, water, mold and catastrophic storms for historic antebellum homes, multi-family buildings, high-rise office buildings, large grocery stores, restaurants, hospitals, hotels, school districts, universities, municipal buildings, etc. Mr. Orlando can proudly say that his mission and goal is to always exceed the client’s expectations while completing the task on time and under budget. Mr. Orlando implements a company environment that is family oriented and compassionate to the clients’ misfortunes.
Throughout his career, Mr. Orlando has remained active in numerous trade associations for the restoration industry and insurance industry. Such examples include: the RIA (Restoration Industry Assoc), IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning & Restoration Certification), IAQA (Indoor Air Quality Assoc), LCA (Louisiana Claims Assoc), PIA (Professional Insurance Agents of Louisiana), and many others. He holds some of the restoration industries highest designations, he has held office as president and director of several local chapters for the insurance associations and has been recognized many times as a leader both in the local business market and social community. While he and Lisa’s children were young, Mr. Orlando remained very involved volunteering with each of their activities both in school and otherwise. Mr. Orlando values the love of family, friends and colleagues. And he is always willing to help others succeed. Mr. Orlando is a firm believer that he is “only as good as the people around him!”
After graduation high school in 1984, Lisa entered college at Delgado Community College for General Business studies. It wasn’t long that Lisa recognized her calling into customer service. Lisa spent several years in the banking business as both a customer service specialist and employee trainer. In 1994, Lisa married her husband Michael and immediately accepted a position with Southwest Airlines as a customer service representative. Very quickly Lisa was recognized as a very loyal, dedicated, reliable and thorough employee. In her roll at Southwest, Lisa became a lead employee and trainer of new employee’s.
From 1994 – 2000 Lisa and Michael’s family grew with the addition of three beautiful children; Vincent, Marissa and Salvadore. Lisa continued her career with Southwest while raising their children and helping Michael with their business: Emergency Restoration, Inc. (ERI), which they launched in 2003. By 2008 ERI had grown and needed Lisa’s full-time attention. Joining ERI full-time in 2008, Lisa assumed the key roll of Vice President where her daily task included but not limited to administrative task such as: taxes, finances, insurances, sub-contractor legal, payables, etc. Lisa’s roll has been very vital and key to ERI’s ability to thrive in the local marketplace.
Lisa has experienced the high-level demand and sudden sales increase during times of catastrophic events and played an important roll in documentation, processing & organization of company finances both during those times as well as everyday work. Lisa is an exemplary model of what ERI was founded on and built it-self on its core values: commitment, dedication, reliability, professionalism.
As an intricate part of First Onsite’s New Orleans office, Lisa is our Office Manager which responsibilities are many, as they pertain to our day-to-day activities.
Since a very young age, Brittany was destined to be a successful team leader. From organized sports, to team captain of her high school softball team, Brittany has always understood what it takes to bring out the best in people. Brittany has a smile that lights up the room, a personality and disposition that makes everyone feel welcome and equally important. And her education in Business Administration from Louisiana State University gives her the skill set to lead our New Orleans Branch Office. Brittany has spent several years managing our Legacy Company in the New Orleans area and is now posed to take First Onsite into a dimension far beyond expectation. Brittany has a youthful dynamic with technological systems for communications and business efficiency. First Onsite Property Restoration is proud to have Brittany as our NOLA branch General Manager.
ERI started in New Orleans and grew to service the entire state of Louisiana. By joining forces with FIRST ONSITE, we are now able to service all of North America.
