Interstate Hawaii
History
In 1993, Raymond Gould started a carpet cleaning business in called Power Clean. Through his work with Hotels and Government Housing, Raymond expanded his knowledge (IICRC) and skills and to add mold remediation and reconstruction to the list of services. The expansion of services and dedicated service lead to an increase in insurance referrals.
By 2008, Raymond was a full-service restoration contractor. Raymond was approached frequently with various partnerships opportunities. It wasn’t until Interstate Restoration (now FIRST ONSITE) approached Raymond that he considered joining forces with another restoration organization. This opportunity would allow Raymond and his to team to not only grow their business, but better serve their clients. In 2016, Raymond and the team joined the Interstate Restoration Ohana as Interstate Restoration Hawaii, LLC. In 2021, Interstate Restoration Hawaii, LLC became FIRST ONSITE.
Joining forces proved to be a great opportunity for Raymond and his team in Hawaii. In 2018, FIRST ONSITE Hawaii gained the ability to handle asbestos abatement. In 2021, FIRST ONSITE joined forces with Kauai Restoration to further serve Oahu, Maui, and Kauai.
In addition, the team in Hawaii have been able to provide restoration to various large projects, include Kauai Lagoon Marriott and Marco Polo, the largest single lost in the state of Hawaii.
The team has earned a lot of recognition as well, including Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association 2019 Na Po’e Pa’ahana Award for Allied Member of the year and in 2020 they received the GCA BUILD HAWAII Environmental Contractor Award for our abatement work at Marco Polo.
From remediation and decontamination, to disaster recovery services, Interstate Hawaii’s team of more than 50 specialists have handled it all. United by sun-soaked barbecues and an unwavering determination to do more for every customer, Interstate Hawaii has gone above and beyond. Today, Interstate Hawaii continues to go above and beyond in an even bigger way as FIRST ONSITE.
Joining Forces
Raymond’s priority was providing his team with career growth and longevity. Additional support and experience would help his team grow to the next level. Team members of “mom and pop” shops can experience limited growth given the limited resources. Raymond knew he could provide a lot more opportunities to his team members by joining forces with FIRST ONSITE.
“We needed the experience the Executive team offered to take a little Hawaiian company to the top.” – Raymond Gould (2/22/2022)
The vision to grow internationally was attractive and important to Raymond. Health benefits, employee benefits and employee welfare all improved greatly. This was especially important during the COVID era, when health benefits were crucial for the Hawaii team.
